Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is a 2020 Indian Bollywood biographical period action film based on the life of Maratha military leader Tanaji Malusare. Movie depicts the events related to recapturing of Kondhana fort ( Sinhagad ) from Mughal Empire .
Tanhaji is directed by Om Raut who has earlier directed several hit Marathi & Bollywood films like Lokmanya: Ek Yug Purush ( 2015 , Marathi ) and Haunted – 3D ( 2011 ) .
Ajay Devgn is the lead actor portraying the role of Tanaji Malusare and also the producer of the movie alongside T-Series . Filming commenced on 25 September 2018 and the official trailer of the film was launched by T-Series on 19 November 2019 . The movie was released in 3D and 2D on 10 January 2020 in 2160 screens worldwide . It was the 100th film of Ajay’s career and also the first Bollywood movie of 2020 to enter 100 Cr club . It has collected around 118 . 91 crore ( All India Nett Collection ) in its first week . In its third weekend it has collected around 9 crores and it total collection is around 212 . 35 crores becoming the highest grossing movie for Ajay Devgan in India breaking the record of Golmaal Again ( 2017 ) which has collected around 205 crores . It is the second Ajay Devgan movie to enter 200 crore club .
