Prakash Raj real name Prakash Rai is the one of the famous Villain of the Indian film industry. He is an actor, director, producer, thespian, television presenter, activist and politician. He started his career in Kannada television industry with Bisilu Kudure (Kannada) and Guddada Bhootha (Tulu and Kannada) and film career with Kannada movie Mithileya Seetheyaru ( 1988 ). In his early days before joining mainstream cinema he acted in back-to-back stage shows for ₹300 a month when he joined Kalakshetra, Bengaluru, and he has 2,000 street theatre performances to his credit. Due to his fluency in all other major Indian languages he has acted in Marathi, Tamil Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and English movies. He is one of the legend of Indian cinema. He has played several character roles but some of its best performance include Mani Ratnam’s Iruvar ( 1997 ) for which he received National Award Best Supporting Actor, Antahpuram ( 1998 ) and Priyadarshan Kanchivaram. Shakti – The Power ( 2002 ) was his first bollywood movie in which he played the role of a sharpshooter and then played the role of corrupt police officer in multi-starrer movie Khakee ( 2004 ) although the movie was average at the box office but Prakash Raj performance was praised by critics and audience. After the success of Wanted ( 2009 ) in which he played the role of international don proved to be game-changer for his career in bollywood and has been a regular villain in Bollywood movies, including Singham (2011) as Jaikant Shikre, Dabangg 2 as Bachcha Singh. In 2019 general elections he contested from Bengaluru Central constituency as an independent candidate where he secured only 2.4% votes ( 28906 ). After the defeat he tweeted it as a “A SOLID SLAP on my face as More ABUSE, TROLL, and HUMILIATION come my way. I WILL STAND MY GROUND. My RESOLVE to FIGHT for SECULAR INDIA will continue. A TOUGH JOURNEY AHEAD HAS JUST BEGUN. THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO WERE WITH ME IN THIS JOURNEY. JAI HIND” . He had announced his entry into politics on January 2019 and had begun campaigning even before he filed his nomination .
