Panga is directed by Ashwin Iyer Tiwari who has earlier directed critically acclaimed movies like Nil Battey Sannata ( 2016 ) and Bareilly Ki Barfi ( 2017 ) . Film is produced and distributed by Fox Star Studios . Legendary trio of Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy has composed the music for the film while lyrics are written by Javed Akhtar . The film features Kangana Ranaut, Jassi Gill, Richa Chadda and Neena Gupta in lead roles . Actors underwent training in kabaddi for over two months including Kangana for depicting the role of Kabaddi players in the movie .The official trailer of the film was launched by Fox Star Studios on 23 December 2019 . Film is shot at different locations of India like Panaji, Bhopal, Delhi and Kolkata . Panga made on a budget of 45 crores earned around 29 crores nett in India and 50 crores gross worldwide . It was released in 1900 screens worldwide on 24 January 2020 was declared a flop at the box office . Film received mixed reviews from critics and while performance of Kangana as Jaya Nigam was praised by all critics . Panga is also available on digital platform Hotstar VIP from March 2020 .
