Kamal Haasan the most complete actor of Indian cinema who mainly works in Tamil movies. He has also acted in Bollywood, Malyalam, Kannada and Telugu movies. He made his debut in Bollywood with 1981 classical Ek Duuje Ke Liye .Kamal Haasan is one of the fewest actors of south film industry who has won filmfare best actor award in bollywood, he won the best actor award for Saagar in 1985. Philanthropy / Social Work Kamal Haasan converted his fan club into welfare organisations and involved in social-service activities through the clubs.His fan club Kamal Narpani Iyakkam (Kamal Welfare Association) organise blood- and eye-donation drives, donate educational materials to students. Kamal Haasan was project ambassador for Hridayaragam 2010, which raised funds for an orphanage for HIV/AIDS-affected children. He donates his income earned from product endorsement to children affected from AIDS / HIV. Kamal Haasan was nominated by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Swachh Bharat Campaign. He chose to clean the Madambakkam lake in Chennai on 7 November 2014.
Controversies Kamal Haasan movie Thevar Maagan was criticised for equating violence with the Thevar community Hey Ram movie which was based on Mahatma Gandhi assassination. Some political parties protested against the movie who insisted that the film portrayed Gandhi in a negative light
Kamal Haasan 2004 movie Vasool Raja MBBS was targeted by president of the Tamil Nadu Medical Council that time K R Balasubramanian who filed a petition objecting to the title because according to him it ridiculed the medical fraternity.
His movie Vishwaroopam release was banned in Tamil Nadu by then state govt under the pressure of Muslim civic organisations and later released on 2 February 2013
